Hello! My name is Kirsty and I am the Direct Payment Project Lead on the Direct Payment Support Service at AoD.

My role is to develop and facilitate the delivery of the Direct Payment Support Service, a project delivered in partnership with Ruils (a Richmond based ULO) and LBHF. I have been working for Ruils in various roles since 2016, and began the partnership work with AoD in December 2019. I also lead on a similar project in Richmond. I believe that good Direct Payment Support should promote choice, control and independence for local residents and that their views should inform our service delivery every step of the way.

My role also involves supporting our two Independent Living Advisors, Sheri and Jennifer, in their roles.
We were due to launch our service at the beginning of March, but due to the current situation with COVID-19 we have had to adapt our service slightly. We are still supporting people via email and over the telephone, and can provide information and advice to DP recipients on budgeting, employer responsibilities as well as supporting people to use their DPs flexibly at this time.
